I had a glitch on my computer a few days ago. For some reason I had problems in linux with the network adapter. For whatever reason it lost connection and it took me a few minutes to fix it. I discovered this when I opened Firefox to check some email and stuff. In linux Firfox 3 gets messages from NetworkManager about the network status. Firefox switched to offline mode.

Even though the first issue was fixed every time I started Firefox it would start in offline mode. I would have to uncheck the option at File > Work Offline. This got very annoying very quickly. I found a bunch of forums and message boards with people having similar issues. I finally ran across somebody who made an acceptable workaround.

This guy got fed up with it so he wrote an extension for Firefox forcing it to stay in online mode. My problem is fixed. Thank you.

For those interested there will be a LAN Party at my house on Sunday the 31st of this month. That is one week from today. We will be starting after the church picnic. I’m not sure of an exact time, but probably around 4:00pm. The games are Call of Duty 4, Team Fortress 2, and Supreme Commander.
