I discovered today that it is very difficult to ride a motorcycle with a broken clutch handle. The handle is fairly simple in how it operates. There is a bolt that the handle uses as a pivot point. The handle has a hole that the bolt goes through. The part of the handle that forms the ring around the inside of the bolt broke off. It turns out the handle is made from a very low quality soft metal. It’s what some refer to as pot metal. It’s not quite as nice as aluminum. I was still able to shift by applying pressure to the handle in such a way as it pressed against the bolt causing it to pivot almost normally. While this made the bike usable it was far from easy to negotiate traffic down Broad St., and probably not exactly as safe as I would prefer.
Since my car will not be done getting repaired until tomorrow night I may have to ride the bike to work in the morning. While it will work, it won’t be as enjoyable as riding a motorcycle should be. Riding a motorcycle is not supposed to be stressful.

I was sick about two weeks before I finally went to the doctor. That was a week ago now. She gave me antibiotics as I previously wrote. I think they’re working because my lungs do feel better. It seems like whatever I have moved from my lungs to my sinuses. Now whenever I go to bed my sinuses close up. It gets very difficult to breath. There are times during the day when I feel like I’m almost well again. Then there are times I feel like total crap. This isn’t like any time I’ve been sick before. For some reason I haven’t been able to fight this one off. I don’t think I’ve ever been sick this long before. I’m ready for it to go away now.

Some of you may know I got sick about a week ago. I finally went to see a doctor when a friend at church with a stethoscope told me she heard some stuff in my right lung. The Nurse Practitioner that saw me said she was not a hundred percent sure it was pneumonia, but gave me antibiotics just in case.
This is where Publix enters into it. They have a nifty little program in their pharmacy. They have a list of prescription medications that are free. The one I got is free up to a fourteen day supply. I suddenly like Publix a lot more, and I’ll probably shop there a little more often now. Going to see a doctor and getting my medication cost me a total of $40.00 for the office visit. I think I got out very cheap for what I got, and I felt that I needed to give Publix some credit. Everybody who reads this should go buy something from their local Publix. We should show Publix some love.
