Anticipation is Building

We’re getting ever closer to the paintball scenario game. September 15th isn’t very far away. I am getting really excited about it. The only thing I don’t have yet is CO2. I have everything else I need for the day. I am looking forward to getting out there fighting the good fight.

I feel very confident in my team. We have a great General, and a good command staff. There has been some talk around the Captains of our team as to who will be doing the best job that day. Scott and Paul are both very excited about this and they are going to do a great job. I have not seen Gosa lead, but I’ve been told that he led in the last scenario even though he was not an appointed leader. He was on the red team, and as General of the blue team I didn’t get over there very often. I have confidence in the decision of Kenny to bring him on. I know that one of them will do a great job and get second place.

If you don’t know about this scenario and would like to participate go to http://www.relentlessyouth.org. We need players of course, but if you would like to participate without playing we need referees, and we also need NPC’s (non player characters) to help us convey the storyline in some of the more critical missions. Everybody will have a great time.

The Fellowship of the Ring

I finished the book during my lunch break last night. I am so happy I read it. It really is an amazing story. The book fills in a lot of gaps that were left out of the movies. It tells a lot more about why various decisions were made by certain characters. It shows why it’s such a big deal that Legolas and Gimli become friends, the book calls them “fast friends”.

I am about to start “The Two Towers”. I can’t wait to see what I missed from the movie in this one. If it’s anywhere near as good as Fellowship I can’t wait to see. Well, I’m off to start it.

Good Day

I’ve been on here complaining and preaching about people’s lack of tipping ability a couple of times now. I feel that I should brag on the customers I had tonight. I need to make sure to point out the positive as well as the negative, or more so for positive reinforcement. I took twenty six deliveries tonight and was only stiffed three times. I consider anything under one dollar to be a stiff. If you order pizza for a total of $19.35, hand me a twenty and say keep the change, in effect tipping me 65 cents, that is a stiff. That happened once tonight. The other two were checks written for the exact amount of the order.

Of the twenty six deliveries, minus the three odd balls, almost all of them tipped from three to five dollars. I had one or two under two dollars. All in all it was a great night. I started the night with an eight dollar tip and I knew right then it was going to be a good night. All night long it seemed that I could do no wrong. Every time I came back to the store I had a great run waiting on me. For the first three hours I took nothing but triples, and they were all easy triples, meaning they were pretty close together, and in a good circle to bring me back to the store. Needless to say I broke a hundred dollars in tips for the night.

My all time record is a hundred forty three. That record is from the first time I ever closed, and I’ve never come close to matching it again. In fairness that was a ten hour shift, and I’ve only done eight hour shifts since, but I am scheduled for a ten this coming Friday night. My goal is set. I want to beat that personal record. You can bet I will post if I do.
